You know how you feel when a company has products you love and then stops making them? The worst. Right?
But now think about if THE person who came up with those products left the company (because her whole heart is with the gluten-free community and she refused to settle for nothing less than the best for us) and started a NEW COMPANY and is re-launching her amazing products, but the old company was still out there using her name? Confusing to say the least. Frustrating for those who just want that darn product they love.
That’s what’s been happening with our friend Jules Shepard from gfJules™ formerly Jules Gluten Free — she is no longer with that company and does not endorse those products, yet they are still selling the products with her name and logo on the package. (until March, pursuant to the legal settlement)
The most confusing thing for most people is that there is a Living Social deal being circulated (and even shared by local GF peeps) for the old products and people get excited about the deal, not realizing these are not Jules’ products.
I was just talking with another GF friend about Jules’ new mixes and she was so excited to try them, but had the same reaction as many others, “it’s just confusing — I don’t know which ones to buy!” (she had also seen the Living Social posts selling the old products, thinking they were the new ones)
So that’s where you guys come in!
We need to spread the good word about THE gfJules and her new product line.
(don’t you just adore the new packaging?)
And what better way to do so than to have you guys try them out for yourself — it’s GIVEAWAY time! Before I give you the details, check out some shots of us LOVING the goods we made with the flour mix.
I made my Pumpkin Spice Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting for Thanksgiving and my twin nephews were fighting over them!
His response when I asked for a little bite? “Noooooooooo!”
The cookies lasted one day. 😉
The mix is a combination of finely ground flours, which I love. It worked well in several different cookies, but also as a thickener for soups. I’m adding it to my short list of GF flour mixes I rotate through for baking. It’s CITC approved!
And my girl Jules doesn’t joke around, she has the highest standards:
- All gfJules products are free of the Top 8 food allergens
- All gfJules products are made in a dedicated GF and allergen-free facility
- Jules’ flour is non-GMO
- 7 of Jules’ 11 mixes are non-GMO (the others are at least 96% non-GMO)
- gfJules flour & mixes are available in 2 sizes
- If you don’t love it, and we can’t find a way to help you love it, then we’ll refund your purchase price
And the sandwich bread? My oh my. You need this bread!
I can think of nothing better when the thermometer reads -2 than a big bowl of soup with a thick slice of warm bread like this to dip into it!
There was NO way I was waiting for it to cool — can you blame me with a rise like that of golden gluten free goodness?
We also used it for breakfast sammies and the husband could not get over how good it was.
Straight from the mouth of Mr. CITC:
- “This is the best gluten free bread has ever been!”
- “It’s so squishy. Not dense. Actually fluffy. There’s a fair amount of air pockets relative to others and it rises to a ‘real’ size, not a mini loaf.”
- “We should just start the weekends making a loaf and use it for everything.”
This is serious stuff. A non-GF, very-picky-about-his-bread, real life review. You read it here, folks.
But don’t just take our word for it, you can WIN your own right here!
TWO lucky winners will receive either the sandwich bread mix OR the all-purpose flour mix pictured above in this post. (two winners, each one gets to decide on one box of gluten-free goodness)
Here’s how:
- Leave a comment below telling me the first thing you would make on that delicious bread, or the first recipe you’d tackle with the flour mix. (please leave your email address so I have a way to contact you)
That’s it. You don’t have to like 324 pages or follow 23 people on IG, Twitter, or MySpace. I just want to know what YOU would do first with your prize.
I won’t lie though, I would LOVE for you to go check out the new gfJules site. Need recipes? Click HERE. You can also find her on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter — just go show her some GF love from MKE. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, most sincere people I have met in the GF community. She’s a VERY big deal (read my previous post on her HERE) but you would never guess how big of a deal from hanging with her. She’s down to earth. And she goes to bat for this community all.the.time.
Let’s show our gratitude by spreading the good word about THE gfJules — if you see those Living Social deals for the “other” company, SAY SOMETHING! I did. And I’ll keep doing it. Join me!
*Contest runs from today through January 13th at 10pm CST, with TWO winners being announced as an update at the top of this post. Winners will have 24 hours to contact me with their mailing address and then will receive a shipment with the prize from my friend Jules herself.
I am thinking this bread would taste good as a toasted PB&J sandwich! Just had that tonight and it would have probably been ten times better had I used Jules bread mix 🙂
I heart GFJules for her bravery and gumption!! I will continue to support her and her amazing products. I would use the bread and make a grilled cheese and avocado sandwich!!!!!!!!! YUM!!
Grilled cheese 🙂

Butter when it has cooled for a few minutes then a grilled cheese!
I’d make a loaf of bread to go with a big pot of chili! I can’t wait to order no matter what way out goes!

French toast then grilled cheese, in that order!!
I would make a Christmas Cardamom bread for me and plain-ole-delicious bread for the hubby. Looking forward to finding your product and trying it out.

I want to try her bread! I would make sandwiches… Panini sandwiches! And toast. And I’d have it buttered with soup. And then with Nutella for dessert. I love her flour. I need more…
I would toast the bread and have it with butter and homemade strawberry jam.
The new packing looks great!! With the GF flour, I’d definitely try to tackle making gluten-free funfetti cupcakes. I’ve been craving them lately, and would love to try making them! If it was gluten-free bread, then I’d go with a cheesy fried egg sandwich on toast. Can’t beat that. 🙂
I would love to make grilled cheese with the bread!
I think I would make the bread and then sit and thick of all the delicious things I could make with it. Sooooo miss my bread!!
I would use the sandwich bread to make a good ol’ fashioned grilled cheese. 🙂

A huge BLT….oh, how I miss a BLT with homegrown tomatoes. Thank you for the clarification on Jules Flour – I used to get her old product but stopped when I started getting odd emails from the people who are now running the old company.
I would make sandwich bread! miss spongy bread that doesn’t always need to be toasted.
I’ve been afraid to try bread but now I want to
I would love to bake for my celiac DIL who doesn’t have the time to test different recipes for her family.
I would love to have a flour to make simple sugar cookies. Nothing fancy. Simple, clean, elegant and not rice, bean, sorghum flavored. A sugar cookie and a nice hot cup of coffee….. I can face the world.
Wow! That bread looks amazing! I think I would have to make breakfast sandwiches first- so yummy!!!
I would love to try the flour mix in a GF bechamel sauce. Still looking for a good thickener!
I would make sandwich bread. Oh how I miss a good sandwich!
If it was summer I would make a fresh Tomato sandwich. Being 4° out, I would love a Turkey sandwich, UNtoasted. Pretty please?
If I had to pick one thing, I would make bread that I would use for French toast, sandwiches and breakfast toast
After Mr. CITC’s review, I would love to try the bread. I received a plethora of new jams for Christmas. With this new bread we could have a great “jam session!”
The bread looks amazing! What to make?? It’s a tossup between a simple peanut butter sammie for my son or a French toast breakfast for all!
Wow- I’m salivating after reading what everyone would do with this bread… Yum! I’m convinced to try the mix even if I don’t win:) I’m also currently at the airport next to a Macaroni Grill which had the tastiest bread before Celiac… I long for room temperature bread that tastes like actual bread… and this looks like it will do the trick:)
I will make my childhood favorite. Toast the bread, spread with butter then cream cheese, top with seedless boysenberry jam. heaven
I want to surprise my wonderful daughter with a great loaf of bread for her school lunches. She loves soup and sandwiches and it’s been a long time for her v

I want to make banana bread that tastes like my old recipe.
The first thing I would make with the bread would be a gooey, grilled cheese. Thanks for the giveaway – and thanks for not requiring tweeting, posting or any of the other “stuff” so many of these blogs are now going to. We don’t all do that but we still want an opportunity to win. 🙂
That bread looks soooooo amazing. Since being diagnosed with Celiac I have yet to have a decent version of one of my favorite comfort foods….grilled cheese!!! I would use that bread to make a perfect grilled cheese 🙂
I want to make a pound cake and have it turn out and taste good! It has been so long and I miss Pound Cake!
Straightaway I would use my new bread machine that I got for Christmas with the bread mix and making my own bread/pizza dough, etc with the flour! Then I would make my favorite breakfast that I miss terribly, French Toast! ❤
That is the most gorgeous gf loaf I have ever seen. I would eat it plain or toasted, buttered, with soup. Or with jelly. Or french toast. But mostly just warm bread with butter. Mmmmm.
Definetly would make a real untoasted sandwich with ham mayo lettuce and cheese! So sick of toasting bread!
I would LOVE a big ol’ PBJ sandwich on Good bread!!!!!

I would make stuffed French toast!
I would make cookies for my kiddos…I’m currently the only Celiac in the house but all signs are pointing toward my daughter with Crohn’s also having Celiac at some point in the near future. I love exposing her to yummy GF treats before she actually has to go GF.
I’d love to try the bread with some apple butter for breakfast! A nice quick morning treat for a busy work day. Thanks!
grilled cheese sandwiches.
There are many, many, many things I’d love to make with this flour, but the first thing I’d try making is homemade GF pita bread. I’ve really missed pita bread since going GF!
I would make some wonderful gluten free Baguettes–LOVE Baguettes and then maybe English Muffins and bagels and chocolate chip cookies and cake, lots of cake!
I’m relativity new to Jules and excited to try some of her recipes posted on her website. Just last week placed my first order of different products. As to what I’d make with a fresh loaf of bread, breakfast would be french toast, for a later meal BLT’s.
I have lots of choices to use the bread – I have homemade frrezer jam, or cinnamon toast, or peanut butter toast or nutella toast…………………..
I’d definitely make the bread. I loved the old Jules Gluten Free products. Will support GFJules for standing up for her convictions. Thank you Jules. and Thank you Sara for promoting this great product line.
A big giant bacon and avocado sandwich! Yumm!!!
