My friend Amy is part of a Chili Cook Off this weekend at the Painted Parrot in Milwaukee. If you are in the area, please stop by to show your support. She’s also the mastermind behind our Team Gluten Free 5k walk next Saturday.
There will be gluten free chili and treats and all proceeds are going to the Celiac Disease Research Center at the University of Chicago.

There will be lots of Chili to try, $1.00 Bloody Mary Specials, and lots of Great raffle prizes, including a Blue Ray Player, Brewer tics, much more!
This fundraiser is very close to my heart because I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 years ago and have been on a mission to raise awareness since!
Celiac Disease is a genetic autoimmune disease. People with Celiac Disease cannot tolerate certain proteins found in common cereal grains, including wheat, barley and rye, commonly referred to as gluten. When a person with Celiac Disease eats foods containing gluten, their immune system responds by damaging the small intestine, specifically the intestinal villi. If Celiac Disease is left untreated, damage to the small bowel can be chronic and life-threatening.
